Brick Lane + Baking = Happy Day

Did the vintage hunt today after an awesome brunch @ Providores, the closest thing in London that you would get to a NZ Sunday brunch on Ponners Rd.

Scored some good finds on Brick Lane, then headed over to a gf's place to do some home-baked chocolate chip cookies. Dropped some off at my neighbours' place, wondering if they would have any. Who knows, I could be a psycho b*nny b*iler. Well 12 seconds later I get a knock on my door. It's Flat no.9 with a half eaten cookie in hand and smile on face. Sweet as!

SouthWestFour, Clapham Common

SouthWestFour, another dance event of sweaty people jumping around with their tops off.

It was already a sweltering 28 degrees (Celcius... er... that's 82 degrees in Fahrenheit for the Americanos). 28 degrees is fine on a normal day. Blimmin' marvelous if you ask me. But if you were in a tent with no ventilation, a few hundred other people that was jumping around, sweating off their faces, you pretty much want to pass out then and there so you wouldn't have to mentally endure the torture of being hot and so not bothered.

Also if you add to the fact that your mate, had his ex gf there who was throwing evils all around town, you would want to be out of there too.

Gordon Ramsay @ Claridges

For Dee's bday we went to Claridges, one of Gordon Rams outfits.

Apparently one of the best restaurants in London, Michelin-starred, with a waiting list for a table 3 months long. So you'd think it would be good. Divine. Amazing. Flawless.

Who am I to critique?

(Whisper: It was quite a-v-e-r-age).

When a chef is passionate about the food he is preparing, you can sense it when you taste it. I didn't feel no passion that Saturday afternoon did you?

G-A-* Bar, Soho London

Had more fun in G-A-* Bar tonight than in crusty Mayfair clubs.

I love Whitney.

Oooh... Wanna dance with somebody
I wanna feel the heat with somebody
Yeah... wanna dance with somebody
With somebody who loves me.

Closer Than Ever

Went along to my mate's play last Friday, called Closer Than Ever.

He was brilliant as always, and after the show we hung around the theatre with other theatre peeps. Reminds me so much of us, we were just like that.

"Do you miss it?"... One gulp to answer. Yea.

Hyde Park, London

Was a beautiful day yest, so was hanging out with my mate in Hyde Park, a treasure.

Then headed to Queensway for some really good Chinese. I told my mate, who is local Chinese, that I'd take him to Canton Cafe in Auckland, for 10/10 Chinese food! A bit too far for a long weekend though, so maybe on my next trip home...

In the evening we headed to the Great Eastern Dining Rooms in Shoreditch where we (they) had flaming Sambucas and this guy nearly had his lip set on fire by his girl. Def not to be tried at home.

Headed to Soho to meet our other friends and ended up staying at the Lazy Dog Lounge till... yea.

Marrakech, Morrocco

Was in Marrakech in the weekend, a little place in Africa. My gramps used to work there so when locals asked me where I'm from I told them my gramps were in Rabat (the capital). They instantly treated me different, in a good way (ie. not trying to charge me tourist prices).

Yea Morroccans try to rip you off every chance they get. You just gotta shove them off and say NO NO NO! I really don't want that larger silver pot...

All in all during our trip, every two steps we took, we had people shouting China? Korea? Japan? My name, is NOT Japan. If you can imagine that can be a tad annoying.
