Gwen Stefani @ Wembley

When I was a teenager, I used to want to walk around barefoot with a microphone, have a hot bassist as my best friend, and wear bindhis day in day out. Just like Gwen Stefani.

So guess who was an excited lil' missy when she heard that Gwen was performing in Wembley.

As soon as the Sweet Escape show started, a Harajuku girl was standing right in front of us. Like 5 feet away.

Then Gwen Stefani runs into the crowd and runs right past us. Looking amazing after jumping up and down for an hour.

Long live Gwen.

TPN

TPN = Twin Peaks Night

Twin Peaks is a cult series from the early 1990s, made alive by David Lynch.

A scored DVD Set 1, with episosed 1 to 4. So last Wednesday night, A and I jump on the couch everytime Laura Palmer's mom comes on screen.

So blimmin' terrifying it is totally engrossing.

Done in the 90s, Twin Peaks details the lives of the denizens of a little town called, you guessed it, Twin Peaks. 10 mins into it you realise that in this seemingly small town with normal, nice people, every single person is a little eff-ed up.

The real world is totally unlike TP. Totally not. I think?

Metra, Leicester Square

The New Yorker is in town. We head to Metra in Leicester Square, which was surprisingly full at 10pm. Londoners sure start partying early.

New York gets totally sloshed, vomiting by our shoes. This is after taking a shot of Canada. Bad photos are taken. Hugs and kisses fly all over.

Can't wait for hungover yum cha tomorrow morn... I mean, afternoon... I mean, late afternoon...

Guanabara is Brazil in London

Some places you enter, make you feel like you are in a whole different continent. Guanabara makes you feel like you are in the middle of a club in Brazil. Like that scene in City of God.

Everyone looks Brazilian (except us).

Everyone dances like their feet's on fire.

Every girl has nice legs.

Every guy has good moves.

Every night in London is every night remembered.

Ladyboyz @ Mango Tree London

We were @ Ladyboyz this evening, the tranny beauty competition, held at Mango Tree each year. I love the way they quiver their lips when they lip sync. And boy, would I give for those legs.

All in all it's been one of the weirdest weekends I've had in London so far.

After Ladyboyz we headed to C-town for some DMCs (deep, meaningful conversations). A pretty sweet way to end your weekend if you asked me.

World Press Photo @ Royal Festival Hall, London

Was at the World Press Photo exhibition with Canada on Saturday afternoon, and once again saw more photographs of the war, of death, of pain and suffering. Is that all that is newsworthy these days? 98% of the news is bad news.

So freakin sick of it. We didn't stay long, didn't agree with it. There are pros to displaying pain and suffering, such as enlightening the wider society on what is going on in far parts of the world. But the photos we saw on Saturday did not portray that. All I saw were pictures trying to win awards. Surely they could do better than that.

Warhol vs. Banksy

Who wins? Andy Warhol, pop icon of the 20th century, and the underground graffiti artist known only as Banksy.

Last Saturday we headed to the Warhol vs Banksy exhibition at The Hospital.

Andy Warhol, famous for his works of Campbell Soup cans, Marilyn Monroe, Edie Sedgwick of Factory Girl. Famous for shooting a film that lasted hours and hours, of him n*ked.

Banksy, famous for his left-wing, anti-est*bl*shm*nt, anti-gov*rnm*nt graffiti art, sculptures and hanging up his works himself, at The Met (NY), Tate (London), Museum of Modern Art (NY).

Both artists have some things in common. Their works leaves an imprint in our minds in some way. Their works are recognisable from miles and miles away.

The question was asked, Warhol vs. Banksy. Who will make a more lasting impression in modern day society? PLEASE ADD A COMMENT, I would really like to hear what you think!
